About the Pomeranian
Descended from larger Spitz-type sled dogs of the Arctic, then bred down in size in Germany before being popularized in England and further refined there. Small and fluffy, with a fox-like face, a plumed tail carried over the back, and a thick double coat.
Temperament
Lively, alert, and self-assured, the Pomeranian is an extroverted little watchdog that often seems unaware of its small size.

Grooming needs
The dense double coat sheds year-round with heavier seasonal blowouts and needs brushing two to three times a week to prevent matting.
