About the Leonberger
Developed in the German town of Leonberg in the 19th century, bred to resemble a lion by combining Saint Bernard, Newfoundland, and Great Pyrenees stock. Large and muscular, with a thick, water-resistant double coat and a notable mane around the neck.
Temperament
Gentle, friendly, and calm, the Leonberger is a loyal family companion that is generally patient with children despite its substantial size.

Grooming needs
