About the Beagle
Developed in England for hunting hare and other small game, with ancestry tracing back to scent hounds used since Roman times. Compact and sturdy, with a short, dense coat, long drooping ears, and a keen nose considered among the best of any breed.
Temperament
Friendly, curious, and merry, the Beagle is a pack-oriented dog that gets along well with people and other dogs but can be single-minded once it picks up an interesting scent.
