About the Rhodesian Ridgeback
Developed in southern Africa by Boer settlers, combining native ridged hunting dogs with European breeds to track and hold large game. Muscular and athletic, with a short, dense coat and a distinctive ridge of backward-growing hair along the spine.

Dignified, loyal, and independent, the Rhodesian Ridgeback is a calm but confident guardian breed that bonds closely with its family while remaining reserved with strangers.
