About the Boxer
Developed in Germany in the late 19th century from Bullenbeisser hunting-dog stock, originally used for holding large game and later for guarding and companionship. Muscular and athletic, with a short, smooth coat and a distinctive undershot jaw.
Temperament
Playful, energetic, and loyal, the Boxer retains a puppy-like enthusiasm well into adulthood and is generally patient and protective with children.

Grooming needs
The short, smooth coat sheds moderately and needs only weekly brushing to stay in good condition.
