At the geriatric stage, care for a Border Collie becomes largely comfort- and monitoring-focused: more frequent vet checkups (roughly every three to six months), a diet suited to aging joints and digestion, and continued gentle grooming assistance. Watch for any decline in mobility or appetite and adjust the home environment — ramps, raised food and water bowls, and orthopedic bedding — to help keep an aging Border Collie comfortable.
